So after 79 weeks of not updating this thing, I am coming out of retirement just long enough to say thank you to those involved in last night's show at Zaphods, as well as to those who came, and to those who I paid for copious amounts of alchool.
It was a wonderful time.
I fucking love playing this town, I love the folks who, after almost 15 years, have become an extension of my family, albeit an incenstous one at times, and in many ways know me better than my bio family ever will. Being away from Ottawa kills me and if it wasn't for the really big gun I get to play with, I might just come back. But it's good to know that it continues while I am away....
Anyhow, I'm off again, maybe for even longer this time, time will tell, but yeah...thanks.
HUA bitches

Alright so played a few dates in Europe and it was great. I came back with a vicious flu, but it was worth it.....big thanks to everyone I met and who helped get shows booked and crowds moving. In no particular order:
Nicolas and Dani (Ad Noiseam team extrordinaire) Zak for being a great travel partner, thanks for brigning back sexy and for not trying to spoon me in Vienna ;) Simon/ Mothboy for a killer set and being a swell guy. Jason Forrest/Donna Summer for japanese trance core. Earnst, Manila and Betty for the Viena hospitality. Ritchie for good, albeit sometimes terrifying times in Linz. Tom, Spectre Tom, Yann (my guy), Vanesssa, Jason, Mika, Herman, Bauke (thanks for the piano), Grit, Brian and Julie, Hello Kitty, and everyone at Maschinenfest for making it a fucking blast. Sorry if I forgot you.
and last but not least, Banana Nectar, you are a god amongst juice and I will never forget your sweet, sweet flavour....

To everyone that had anything to do with the show last night, inc. just showing up…I had a blast. I especially want to thank Leslie and Jairus for the show/drive.
And last, but never least, Yann for being so much more than just a ninja….
The sets by both Un and Cdrk were outstanding, and the crowd was really great - I made more on merch. last night than in all of my past shows combined, so thanks for that too. (as it happens I ripped almost my entire left leg off my pants in a freak jumping on stage incident, so good to know that I can now afford new pants…cause we need pants…(or do we????)
Cheers…

This was a few years ago, and Tony and I were talking about music, and making music. He said that one day he wanted to start a completely accepella industrial project, in the same breath he described how'd he do it in the most vivid detail.... so many projects that will now not be realized. He was so talented, and always willing to share his genius.....
we all benefited from knowing him

I just don't update enough do I?
Well I'm very happy to say that The Way of the North is pressed and printed and ready to roll. Ad Noiseam will be announcing the release date soon enough, and I have to say I'm really excited about this one. It's nice that it's my 5th release and it comes on the eve of my 5th year recording. I have some one-off shows here and there in the works, and am waiting to see how many consecutive days my work will allow me to take this year so that I can perhaps get on the road to promote it in a decent manner. Go me.
I got the DVD set of Twin Peaks and I am very disappointed - seems edited to me, and does not include the pilot episode, which I just assumed it would. To compensate, I got the extended Sin City DVD which makes up nicely for it.
Now for something more serious. For those who don’t know me outside of LJ, I work in health care - for an independent research funding organization. We have an election here in Canada very soon, and it worries me how little people think it could effect how we live - I come to work every day and do my bit to keep health care in Canada free and accessible to all, and that very notion is threatened by the outcome of this upcoming election - don’t ever be fooled into a sense of false security because something you take for granted seems invulnerable - all it takes is one administration that thinks differently and *poof* things we consider as "basic" rights are threatened - Unless your head is suddenly chewed off by your neighbor, do the right thing, participate, and don’t allow yourself to become a passive "observer".

On the eve of Antigen Shift's 5th anniversary, I'm really psyched to announce some details on the next AS release.
The new album will be released in early 2006 on Ad Noiseam records. It will be entitled The Way of the North, and features some major changes in sound for the project. Some of the newer material was played on the recent live dates in the US with Iszoloscope and Adversary. Think deep, think head nodding, think groove, think less noisy.
To coincide with this, I've done some major revamping to this website, and put up a few short excerpts from the album on the discography page. Go have a peek.

Does anyone know of a good MC that is available as a session vocalist, open minded enough to work on some rougher material? Looking for a male voice, someone who can write their own lyrics (and I'm not looking to learn about how to impress women with fancy cars, I'm looking for intelligent, socially aware content).
If they are in Ottawa, cool, but if not I can work over the information super highway, so long as they are also equipped to do so.
Thanks!

Anybody have any performance pics/video from the Chicago or NYC shows? I am planning a revamp of my website and would love to include some recent photos.
Thanks again to Kinetic kinetic_noise and Ben terrorfakt_ny for the opportunity to play in your cities. And my apologies to those cities I was not able to play in.
